Distributed Antenna Systems, more commonly known as DAS, have become an important knowledge area for ICT professionals. DAS 101 is an OEM-agnostic course designed for those who are new to the industry and are looking for an introduction to DAS or those who seek to refresh and/or expand their DAS knowledge. This course covers the fundamental math behind the radio frequences that flow through a DAS, basic DAS operations, and DAS key performance indicators. The course is broken down into 10 specific sections with breaks every 50 minutes, practical exercises in each section, and ample Q&A time built in. Sections include: 1. RF 101 (covering units of measure, conversions, and logarithmic rules) 2. Introduction to Wireless Technology (covering wireless standards, radio access technologies, duplexing, and EM spectrum/frequency bands) 3. Introduction to DAS (including basic downlink and uplink functions) 4. Introduction to KPIS (including RAN and DAS specific KPIs) 5. Signal Source (including PCI in LTE And 5G NR) 6. Signal Power (including intro to RSRP, headroom and transmission equations, link budget, and propagation) 7. Signal Quality (including intro to SNR, thermal noise, signal-to-noise ratio, and DAS system noise) 8. Validating DAS Installation (Inspecting test results, conducting inventory check) This course includes a final exam and certificate upon completion. This course requires the student to bring a laptop, tablet, or other mobile device that can access the internet to view the student documentation and take the test.
